Hi, folks. Diana Wallace Peach, the estimable and wonderfully gracious author at Myths of the Mirror blog, was generous enough to feature my poem “Wisdom” on her site today. It’s such an honor for me, and my gratitude is off the charts. Her blog post also reveals a few more details about her upcoming novel Tale of the Seasons’ Weaver, due to release early next year. Diana is a master of the fantasy genre and her novels are both sweeping in scope and breath-taking in nature. I hope you’ll drop by her blog and check it out. Also, it would be difficult to find anyone as supportive and encouraging as Diana. To me, she encompasses the very heart and soul of creativity and kindness, and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. Do check out her blog and her library of novels, will you?
Thanks so much, Diana!
It’s a good day, Mike. Kindness is swirling in the air, and you’re a big part of that. It shows what’s possible and is very much the core of your poem. How fitting when it all comes together. My best day in weeks! It was my absolute pleasure to share your exquisite talent today and everyone who read it can see why I’m a fan. Hugs.

Kindness has that effect, doesn’t it? The more we give away, the more it multiplies and spreads throughout the world. It’s a hopeful day for me, too, Diana. Another good blogging friend of mine (Nigel Byng from Helping You to Succeed blog) was incredibly gracious to me regarding some unfinished short stories I sent him this morning. The sheer amount of encouragement and enthusiasm both you and Nigel possess is akin to an unquenchable flame. Just a whole lot of light shining today. Hope continues, my dear friend. Kindness will prevail.
Thanks again, Diana. I’m so glad you’re here. 😊

Ooooh. Short stories. I’m intrigued. It’s wonderful to “see” you feeling the light, Mike. Any time, my friend.

Yep, my last two attempts at fiction, written (and abandoned) twelve years ago. One is low-key horror, the other is sword-and-sorcery fantasy. I’d love to be able to finish them sometime if for no other reason than to find out what happens, you know? (I write without a roadmap.) Not sure if I can, but Nigel’s enthusiasm today has me thinking about those stories again.

I hope you do finish them. That “not knowing” was what hooked me on writing. It was such a weird feeling to have stories write themselves. I look forward to reading them some day.

Mike I could not be happier for you. I am so grateful that someone recognized your amazing talent and that she is a tremendous writer, who was also very gifted and that from this you, Will, I am sure both benefit. I hope this will be one of her most successful books ever and Mike, I’m just so tickled that you will be in it. Wonderful things can happen Mike to those who are patient and continue working on their craft and that has certainly been you. Scott and I are both thrilled to have read this wonderful news today and are very grateful. Also that Diane has recognized your talent and will now include you and her latest book. Much love our friend. Congratulations to you both. ❤️🤗❤️

Thanks, Joni. I was so excited when Diana asked if she could use my poem in her upcoming novel. Of course, I jumped at the chance (a very easy decision for me). Diana is so immensely talented so it’s absolutely an honor for me to have my poem included in her book. I can’t wait for its release. As a life-long fantasy fan (I was introduced to Tolkien’s world at age 12), Diana’s work is right up my alley. So, yeah, super-excited here at the moment. 😀
Thanks as always for your enthusiastic support, my friend. You’ve been such a stalwart presence for so long now, and I truly appreciate your belief in my writing. This community is amazing. So many wonderful people here, caring about one another. I appreciate you and Scott and your friendship. Much love to both of you. 😊

Mike! A wonderful poem, and a wonderful honor! Congratulations! Your work will be even more widely experienced. A thank you to Ms. Peach for that, but as commenters at both sites said, you utterly nailed this poem top to bottom! 🌷

Thanks so much. I was soo thrilled when Diana asked if she could use my poem in her book. Can you imagine me doing a happy-dance? If so, that’s pretty much how it went after her request. It’s really exciting. Diana is such a wonderful person and presence here in this community, always offering support and encouragement and kindness…and she’s not the only one. So many here on WP share her compassion and creative vision and warmth (yourself included). It’s just a nice place to be. I can’t wait for her book’s release. A huge thanks to Diana, for sure, and a huge thanks to you, too, for your ongoing support and wonderful friendship. Much appreciated. 😊🌸

I was going to write “wonderful” and see others got there before me! The poem glimmers with what (I believe, anyway) various traditions across the world try to get at: the importance of interconnectedness of all and the gift of what we have right now. Congratulations!

Thanks so much. Yep, everything truly is interconnected, and it’s unfortunate that humanity as a whole doesn’t seem to realize this. I think I picked up on this concept as a boy growing up on a farm. Living out in the middle of nowhere, you’re forced to find a way to coexist with nature, and hopefully it leads to an appreciation of the natural world rather than resentment towards nature. I fear for our planet, especially now that the absolute unthinkable worst has occurred in the elections here in the States. There’s no telling how much environmental damage will occur at the hands of those in power who revere greed above all else, but there will be plenty, for sure.

Thanks, Lauren. I knew this one would connect with you. I was so excited when Diana asked to use this poem in her upcoming book. It was the easiest decision I ever made. I’m super-stoked to experience her book when it finally releases. She’s such an incredible writer and wonderful human being. Even in these terribly dark times, this WP community continues to shine and foster hope and support.

Mike, I am always a huge fan of your work. Absolutely awed by this stunning piece of poetry. It speaks to the very nature of humanity and how closely we are tied to nature, and where to get our inspiration to be kind and united from. What beauty there is in the world. And how exquisitely you paint it!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m hopelessly enamored with the natural world, and I wanted to write something akin to a love letter to nature, if you will. I had a lot of fun writing this piece, and I’m so grateful to Diana for including it in her upcoming book. (“Excited” doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel!) 😊🌸
