    2. I’m glad my writing brings you back, Saima. It’s my pleasure, for sure.

      Life has become incredibly scary here in the U.S. Fascists have taken over the government, our so-called “president” has aligned himself with his fellow dictators, an unelected psychopathic billionaire is destroying our government more each day, and chaos reigns. It’s an existential threat for my country and the world. Rights and programs are being stripped from citizens (myself included) and right-wing extremism and hate are rampant. It’s a nightmare here, Saima. I try to keep everything in perspective, but perspective has been shattered, and citizens are panicking. It appears hopeless at the moment. I may not have any income, healthcare or housing in a few weeks because of right-wing cultists and their billionaire overlords. So, honestly, I (and millions of other citizens) am terrified right now. My blog and this WP community are my only safe places now.

      It’s so difficult to put on a happy face when everything around me is burning.

      I wish I could awaken from this nightmare.
