Hi, friends. Manuela Timofte has kindly published my poem “The Daisy Ring” on her blog In A Love World. I’m grateful for Manuela’s continued support of my writing. Her blog is a treasure trove of international poetry, and well worth the visit. Thanks so much, Manuela.

“I found thee in a faerie copse…”
“Hmm?” she murmured
Her gaze caught somewhere
In the rainy neon night-world
Beyond the coffee shop window
Her fingers weightless
Feather-like
In my hand
Ethereal
Furnace-hot
“I found thee in a faerie copse
Alighting on each flower fair
And as I ‘proached thee in the hopes
Of snaring thee in lovers’ ropes
Thou disappeared into thin air…”
She looked at me then
A faint smile teasing
Her lips
“Your poetry is terrible,” she said…

This unfolded for me as slowly aching heartbreak and nothing to be done – beautiful

Oh! I had a similar thought! But maybe different – I felt as if he was love-bombing her, trying too hard to use his words for “snaring thee in lovers’ ropes” and that she saw through the trap and broke the bonds before they could form… it was quite bitter-sweet. Well done Mike!

This poem shows deep emotion. It’s like Van Gogh’s dying sunflowers paintings.

Many thanks, Robbie. The slow demise of beautiful things is incredibly poignant, indeed. I’m glad this one connected with you. Have a good weekend. 😊
