(#103)
Bones of the earth split
Emaciated earth’s skin
Granite ribs protrude
…..
(#104)
Holes in waraji
Worn through soles through countless years
My soul worse for wear
…..
(#105)
Deafened ears can hear
Whispered symphonies of earth
Deafened hearts ignore
…..
(#106)
Mysteries begin
In the misty distance where
My horizon ends
…..
(#107)
Pieces of my heart
Bread crumbs marking mournful trails
Leading to the past
…..
(#108)
Part the blades of grass
Peer into the infinite
Listen with your heart
Nice one! Iβm still waiting for the one that rhymes with Chuck from Nantucket. π΅βπ«π¬

There’s always some sound waiting to modulate once it matches your natural frequency ,,
As always truly enjoyed, Mikeπ

“Thereβs always some sound waiting to modulate once it matches your natural frequency…” This is really profound, Reena. π Also, as far as sounds go, I find myself writing about sounds a lot and I know it’s because of my deafness. I miss out on so many things now, but hopefully I’m gaining wisdom through my other senses (including my “heart-sense”). Thanks as always for such kind words and support. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. π

Thank you, Grace. I’m so glad you liked these. To me, this is what writing is all about: sharing our souls and making connections with others. I’m always a bit nervous when I publish anything, so your kind comments always do so much to assuage those fears and make me feel welcome in this WP community. Your support is so appreciated. π

Itβs truly a pleasure. I can relate to the feeling nervous while publishing. Though it has gotten easier. Keep writing, you are a wonderful.π

Ohhβ¦ #108 was the one that spoke to me the most. Noticing the things that most never do is what I always try to aim for. Thatβs where the magic is. ππ«

Thanks, Michelle. I’ve had a couple of these haiku recently where I got down to ground level to watch and listen. It’s like a microcosm of the “big world,” and like you said, people never notice things other than those that are right in front of their eyes. I liked the discovery aspect of what might lie beyond those blades of grass. Adventure awaits! π Also, it was the idea of getting closer to nature, which all of us need to do to find balance and peace–a meditative aspect. So glad you liked this one. π
