Hi, folks. I’m pleased to announce my poem “My Jade Remembrance” has gone live at Gobblers & Masticadores. Many thanks to Juan Re Crivello and Manuela Timofte and their staff for this chance to share my poetry with their readers. It’s always an honor and I’m truly grateful. Thank you, Juan and Manuela!
“My Jade Remembrance”
(c) 2019 by Michael L. Utley
“I used to know you
9,000 tears ago
A tear for every mile
That kept me from you
A tear for every moment
Not spent with you
A tear for every hope
Not shared with you
9,000 tears…”

Such an amazing love that’s, described in this one.

Thank you so much. It really was by far the most profound, and most painful, love I’ve ever experienced. I appreciate your kind words, and thanks for stopping by. 😊

Oh, Mike… Your acknowledgment of your loved one’s inner demons and the inability to save them from their fate is so deeply moving…
Much love,
David

Thanks, David. Ultimately, this is a poem about not knowing and having no closure. She just faded away and I have no idea what happened to her, and I never will. She had plenty of personal demons and I couldn’t save her. Man, that seems to be a recurring theme for me.
I appreciate your kind and thoughtful words, my friend. It means a lot to me. 😊

Congratulations, Mike!!
Broke my jade ring around my thumb after I got too excited and my amethyst gold-twine rope with adjustable base bc I got too excited verbally translating “Poe at 13.” To my friends. Anyways, very proud of you. 🫶🏻

Well done, Mike. This made me think of long-distance relationships, and all of those unknowns and lack of shared experiences which come with physical separation.

Thanks, Bruce. You nailed it–it was indeed a long-distance relationship in this case, which made it so much more difficult because I had no way to just drive over to her place to comfort her. It’s an incredibly helpless feeling to know your beloved is suffering and you can’t wrap your arms around her and make things better.
I appreciate your support, good sir. Thanks so much for stopping by today. 😊

Beautiful testament, and I can’t help thinking that wherever she landed, a little of you is kept close to her.🌷

Congratulations on the publication Mikey.
That poem just breaks my heart..I can relate to the love that is so deep and so life changing. The love that just steals a piece of you and leaves you zero closure. It changes you. It feels like a piece of you is missing. And the not knowing gnaws at you in the quiet moments.
It was a sad sad poem Mikey.
Thanks for sharing your pain with us my friend. 💜💔

Thanks, brother. I’m sorry to know that you know what this feels like, but I’m fairly sure most of us have been through something that leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Writing helps to settle the feelings for awhile. I wish I knew–the uncertainty is awful– but I don’t. I just hope she found peace.
I appreciate you, man. Thanks for your kindness. 🙏😊

Thanks so much, Dawn. Sometimes writing about this sort of thing is the only way to deal with it. Thank goodness for poetry–I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t put the darkness into words.
Thanks for stopping by, my friend. I appreciate you. 😊

Kindest thanks, Saima. It’s the ultimate honor when someone connects with something I’ve written. I’m delighted to know this one means so much to you that you’ll save it in your diary. (I’m grinning like a schoolboy right now! 😄) Thank you for this sweet gesture, my friend. It means a lot to me. This is such a heavy poem for me. The weight of memories is unbearable at times. I’m so glad you like this one. Truly grateful for you, Saima. 😊🙏🌈

Haha.. that’s good👍 I love to see ( imagine) you smiling/ laughing my friend🙂 I’m in love with your writing, Mike.
I can understand my dear friend, the ” sudden disappearance” in such relations is really cruel. Anyway, time is the best healer.. I wish it heals your hurts too.
