“pardon my sorrow
and forgive my weeping soul
my humble supplication
loosed into the void on raven’s wings
to fall on deafened ears of fickle gods…”

  1. Your anguish at the world in which we find ourselves is so brilliantly evoked in this poem, Mike. Fortunately for us all, you are not at all bereft of words, even though I know it feels that way. Sending admiration and hugs.

    1. Thanks, Thomas. I experienced the same issues at Hotel this morning–pop-up ads all over the place and a malicious website warning. I notified the editor (Michelle Navajas) and she was going to notify the owner of Masticadores to let him know the site has been hacked. Not sure when it will be fixed as I haven’t checked it since this morning. and haven’t heard back from anyone.

PS — If you’d like to read the entire poem, you can find it on my blog here:

    1. Thank you, Diana. Sometimes I feel like my soul has run dry, but all I can do is keep trying, hoping for goodness to return, and continue putting words on the page. Surely this darkness will be followed by dawn…and I hope I’m still around to see it.

      1. I was thinking of Gandalf lately and his quote about how we don’t get to choose our time, only what we do with it. Your presence matters, Mike. Collectively we represent hope and make the dawn possible.
