(#19)

When I sought knowledge
I opened my eyes and ears
When I sought wisdom
I opened my mind and heart
Rain and sunshine for my soul

…..

(#20)

In my winter dreams
I walk barefoot in the spring
Sink my toes in loam
In the green konara copse
Gathering the brown acorns

    1. Thanks so much, Diana. These tanka were written in a calmer state of mind and have a much more almost spiritual feel to them, in a sense. Simplicity, and none of the despair so much of my poetry usually conveys. Seems like eons ago that these were written, given this current darkness, you know?

    1. Hey, Aaysid! Good to see you again, and thank you for your kind words. Nature is grounding, for sure, and sometimes it seems it’s the only thing that keeps me from utter despair. I’m so glad to know these tanka resonated with you, my friend. I hope things are good in your world. 😊
